Set up your Compact Stroller+ and Cozy Bundle for winter walks. Attach the Stroller Cozy, dress your child in thin layers, and do a safety check before heading out.
Quick answer
To get your Compact Stroller+ and Cozy Bundle ready for cold weather, attach the Stroller Cozy securely to the stroller seat, dress your child in thin layers, and do a quick safety check before each walk. The Cool Grey bundle gives you a coordinated setup that’s easy to spot in low light.
Why the Cozy Bundle works as a winter stroller setup
The Cozy Bundle pairs the Compact Stroller+ with the Stroller Cozy, a footmuff designed to keep your little one warm and dry. Instead of layering blankets that slip off, the Stroller Cozy stays put and gives consistent coverage. The Cool Grey color is neutral and easy to match with winter gear, and it’s light enough to see in dim afternoons.
When to choose the Cozy Bundle over separate accessories
If you want a single purchase that covers both strolling and cold-weather comfort, the bundle saves you from matching pieces yourself. It’s also a good option if you’re new to winter walks and want a straightforward starting point. However, if you already own a stroller or prefer a different footmuff, buying the Stroller Cozy separately might be more practical. The bundle doesn’t include a rain cover, so you’ll need to add one if you walk in wet weather.
Step-by-step cold-weather setup
- Unfold and lock the stroller: Open the Compact Stroller+ fully until it clicks into place, then engage the brake. Common mistake: skipping the brake check, which can let the stroller roll while you’re attaching the Cozy. Always set the brake before adding accessories.
- Attach the Stroller Cozy to the seat: Lay the Cozy on the seat and secure any straps or attachments according to the instructions. Make sure it lies flat and doesn’t bunch up behind your child. Checkpoint: tug gently on the Cozy to confirm it’s firmly attached and won’t shift during the walk. A secure attachment prevents the Cozy from slipping down.
- Dress your child in thin layers: Put your child in a base layer and a mid layer, then place them in the Cozy. Avoid bulky coats or snowsuits, which can make the harness fit incorrectly. Checkpoint: the harness should be snug against the body, and you should be able to fit only two fingers between the strap and your child’s chest. Thin layers plus the Cozy provide warmth without compromising harness safety.
- Adjust the Cozy for full coverage: Pull the Cozy up to your child’s chest and fasten any closures. Make sure the foot area is covered but not tight. Common mistake: leaving gaps at the neck or feet that let cold air in. A snug but not restrictive fit keeps warmth in.
- Do a final safety check: Confirm the harness is buckled and adjusted, the Cozy doesn’t interfere with the buckle or straps, and nothing is loose that could catch in the wheels. Checkpoint: recheck the harness after your child is seated and the Cozy is in place, because the extra fabric can hide a loose strap. Always recheck the harness after adding the Cozy.
- Prep for wet or windy weather: The Cozy Bundle doesn’t include a rain cover, so if it’s raining or snowing, add a stroller rain cover that fits the Compact Stroller+. Also consider a blanket for extra wind protection on very cold days. Checkpoint: test that the rain cover doesn’t block the stroller’s ventilation or your child’s view. Plan for precipitation separately; the Cozy alone isn’t waterproof.
